2009 Underwater Hunter of the Year – Rules

The 2008 spearo contest was a blast and we hope this years is even bigger.

RULES

1. All Georgia DNR/Florida FWC laws must be followed
2. Diver must stay within recreational dive limits
3. Weigh-in does not have to be at Waterdog Dive Shop (honor system)
4. Send weight along with photo to waterdogscuba@bellsouth.net for entry
5. Fish must be gutted before weighing
6. Dates for the tournament are 1/1/09-11/30/09
7. There is no deadline for entry
8. Hunter may enter tournament at weigh-in
9. Points will be awarded by fish weight
10. Hunters will enter one fish in each category
11. If a hunter brings in a larger fish the larger fish can replace the previous entry in that category
12. Bonus points will be awarded from the list below

FISH LEGAL FOR ENTRY

1 point for each pound with a max of 20 points per fish

Grouper (any legal species)

Greater Amberjack

Flounder

Sheepshead

Snapper (any legal species)

Cobia

Spade

BONUS FINDS

Lobster -50 points (points awarded one time)

Lion Fish -50 Points (points awarded one time)

Retrieved anchor -50 points for each (must leave at Waterdog Anchor Pile)

Photo of the Month -50 points

Video of the Month -50 points

Junk of the Month -50 points

Fishing Lure-10 points (must leave at Waterdog Anchor Pile)

Regina and I will judge the best photo, junk and video each month and reward 50 points for each.
Tip: If you use a camera or lift bag bought from us, you stand better chance of winning.
Pictures and video will be placed on our new web site. You can keep your junk…just take a picture of it.
