We will be working on our confine dives at the YMCA pool in Waycross, GA this Saturday from 8:30 till 5:00. Everyone is welcome to join us to work on their skills for the upcoming year. Entry free to the pool is free to certified divers with the rental of a tank or gear. If you have your own tanks, $10 per diver. A certified instructor will be available for refresher course, $99 (includes tanks and gear rental).

Our next Open Water SCUBA Class will be April 21st and 28th. We will be conducting academic studies at the dive shop from 9:00 am till 2:00 pm Saturday April 21st. The following Saturday we will have our confined water portion of the class at the Waycross YMCA “HEATED” Pool from 8:30 am till 5:00 pm. Class cost is $199.95 with the purchase of a Mask/Fin/Snorkel set from Waterdog Scuba, LLC. We also offer an online academic study option at and additional cost for those out of town that can’t make it to the shop on April 21st. YOU ARE NEEDED…The Hazlehurst/Jeff Davis Volunteer Fire Department is looking for eager, self motivated and adventurous men and women for the Dive Team. This is a volunteer search and recovery team working not only in Hazlehurst and Jeff Davis County but assisting adjacent counties in water related incidents. You will not only be challenged but you will be trained in the proper use of the latest SCUBA Diving Equipment in the Public Safety Diving community, such as Full Face Mask, Under Water Communications, Dry Suits and Redundant Air Systems just to name a few. Divers and non-divers are needed.
We will be holding a meeting 8:30am Saturday January 21st at the Hazlehurst Fire Headquarters. We will discuss the 2012 training schedule and fund raising events. We will also meet and greet new team members.

We will be making back-to-back trips to Troy Springs State Park Saturday August 27th and September 3rd. We will leave the shop at 7:30am on Saturday arriving at Troy Springs around 11:00am. As usual we will stop at I-75 and US Hwy 129 in Jasper, Florida to pickup snacks and lunch around 10:00am. We are limited to 12 Open Water students for this checkout so make sure you are on the list. If you already have your C-card you are more than welcome to come along and work on your Advanced Diver Certification. Click here for directions.

This entry level emergency response diving course is designed to give the public safety diver the fundamental skills needed to safely function as part of a public safety dive team and is OSHA and NFPA compliant. Topics such as problem solving, tender skills, search patterns and evidence handling are covered just to name a few. Dive skills include executing search patterns, victim recovery, emergency procedures and decontamination procedures among others. ERD I also serves as a prerequisite to ERD Ops Components courses.
