Scuba Class- Feb 19th & Feb 26th
Posted by: | CommentsWe will be having or next scuba class Feb 19th (classroom) & Feb 26th (pool). The classroom session will be at the dive shop in Hazlehurst from 9am till 3pm and as aways online study is an option. Our next pool session will be held in the heated indoor at the Waycross YMCA. Cost for the class is $325 or pay as you go, $110 for classroom, $125 for pool and $125 for checkout dive. FYI: Next checkout dive will be March 5th at Troy Springs State Park.
Jan 29th-Feb 5th Open Water Scuba Class
Posted by: | CommentsOur upcoming Open Water Scuba Class will start with academic studies at the dive shop in Hazlehurst this Saturday, Jan 29th, starting at 9am. The pool session will be at the Waycross YMCA Saturday Feb. 5th. Come by the YMCA and try Scuba for free from 9am till 10am. Online academic work is available. As always the pool is open to all Waterdog Divers.
Troy Springs Trip- Jan 22, 2011
Posted by: | CommentsTroy Springs Google Map We will leave the shop in Hazlehurst at 8am and meet at Burger King in Douglas at 8:30am to car pool. Next stop will be I-75 and US 129 near Jasper, FL around 10:30am, most divers from Waycross meet us here. We will arrive at Troy Springs State Park around 11:30. We will make three dives and should be wrapped up around 4pm. Bring drinks and food for lunch. Admission to the park is $15 for divers and $3 for non-divers. The water temperature is 68-72 so you will need at least a 3mm full wet suit. If you don’t have one I have some you can rent for $10 and we do have some for sale at the shop.
Waycross YMCA-HEATED POOL
Posted by: | CommentsOur first Scuba Class of the year starts Jan 8th @ YMCA of Waycross. Bring a friend and let them try scuba for free from 8am-10am and/or 3pm-5pm. For those that are already certified and just NEED to get wet …come on in the pool is warm and you can’t bet the price, FREE. Scuba Instructors will by at the pool to answer any of your questions. Classes start at $110 (on line). Have a safe and super wet new year.
ERDi Workshop for Fullface mask and Dry Suit
Posted by: | CommentsMembers from Milan VFD, Coffee County FD and Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Fire Rescue participated in a joint training workshop December 4th, 2010 @ South Georgia College pool and a local pond in Douglas. All member were certified in ERDi full-face mask diving along with ERDi dry suit diving. These certifications not only allow dive team member to dive in cold water but is considered PPE, personal protect equipment. Milan, Coffee and Hazlehurst-JD all respond to local dive emergency calls for the surrounding counties. Plans are to make this joint training a quarterly event.
Open Water Scuba Classes- Dec 11th, 2010 and Jan 8th, 2011

Pool will be open for diving 8am till 11am and then again from 3pm till 5pm. The pool will also be open to all Waterdog Divers that just want ot get wet or brushup on skills. By the way the pool is heated.
Rescue Dive Class-September 16th and 18th

Not only does it challenges you as a diver it let’s other divers know that you can handle a problem if one arises. Our yearly Dive Rescue class will start Thursday night September 16th @ 6pm at the dive shop. We will be doing the pool and open water dive September 18th from 8am till 4pm. Call or email to signup. Summer Time Update
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s been a while since our last post, but we have not been idling by this summer. A lot has been happening at the Dive Shop. Adding 3 new instructors, Public Safety Training with ERDi, and the addition of nitrox are just tips of the iceberg with all that has been going on.
