M.A.D. Drill for Public Safety Divers-Sept 17th, 2011
Posted by: | CommentsThe Hazlehurst/JD Dive Team will hold a Multi Agency Dive Drill Sept. 17th at the Uvalda Landing north of Hazlehurst on the Altamaha River from 8am-12noon. We will be locating (side scan) and recovering victims from the river in low viz, mild current. All local dive teams are invited and please feel free to invite anyone interested in PSD. This will be a hands on drill. Hazlehurst/JD will have it’s boat on scene with the side scan. You only need to bring your PSD diving equipment.

PSD Dive Trip July 30th 2011 with Offshore Dive Charters

Waterdog Scuba is planning a Jacksonville dive trip with Offshore Dive Charters July 30th for Public Safety Divers. Cost is $100 for the trip and we have rooms avaible at Holiday Inn Express for $79 if we reserve early. You need to bring your tanks (2) or retn them $12 each and Nitrox is avaiable. This trip will be limited to 12 divers and we will need $50 to hold your spot. If you don’t dive you can still join us and fish at a reduced rate. Multi-Agency Vehicle Recovery-Ocmulgee River
Posted by: | CommentsJan 8th, 2010-The Hazlehurst/Jeff Davis Dive Team was assisted by Georgia State Patrol, Jeff Davis-SO and Milan FVD in a vehicle recover in the Ocmulgee River today. Thanks to all that helped. The vehicle was located and hooked up in less than 12 minutes from the time the diver touch to water. Water temp was 51 degrees with a moderate current and zero viz. No passengers were in the vehicle. JD-SO had a report that the vehicle had been driven in the river late Thursday night. The vehicle was not visable from the surface. Job well done by all.
Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Dive Team Meeting -January 13th

Waterdog Scuba will also be offering “Introduction to PS Diving” to any local agency that would like to start a PSD team.
ERDi Workshop for Fullface mask and Dry Suit
Posted by: | CommentsMembers from Milan VFD, Coffee County FD and Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Fire Rescue participated in a joint training workshop December 4th, 2010 @ South Georgia College pool and a local pond in Douglas. All member were certified in ERDi full-face mask diving along with ERDi dry suit diving. These certifications not only allow dive team member to dive in cold water but is considered PPE, personal protect equipment. Milan, Coffee and Hazlehurst-JD all respond to local dive emergency calls for the surrounding counties. Plans are to make this joint training a quarterly event.
Public Safety Diving-Hazlehurst/Jeff Davis Fire Rescue 11-20-10
Posted by: | CommentsMembers of the Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Fire Rescue will be hosting their fall checkout dive this weekend, Nov 20th, 2010. Divers will be checked out with Full Face Mask and Dry Suits. Any and all local Public Safety Dive Teams are welcomed to participate. Pool session starts at 9am with a live dive scenario following. Divers completing this workshop can receive their FFM and Dry Suit PSD certification from ERDi. Cost for work shop, FREE. Please call Ashley if you would like to attend.
