Blackshear Group Trip Report for May 29th
Posted by: | CommentsFriday on Capt. Rusty’s charter, we speared a total of 22 Spades, 2 Grouper, 1 Sea Bass, and 1 Amber Jack. The first dive was on the new subway cars that DNR just deployed at G Reef last year. They were nice to dive on but will probably be better next year once they get a little more age on them for better fish habitat. Most of the fish were smaller there but I did see a few nice sized Snapper that I couldn’t get a shot on. The last two dives were on a 105′ tug boat. This wreck was LOADED with fish including Spades, AJ’s, Grouper, Snapper, Spanish, Barracuda, Sheepshead, Sea Bass, and Triggers. The viz on all of these dives were 20-30 feet. Below is the biggest fish that each of us speared.

Under Water Hunter update May 1st.
Posted by: | CommentsThe following is a report sent in by the former Paul “sea sick” Harris.
Ashley,
I got 3 Spades, 3 Black Bass, and 2 Triggers. The spades were not any bigger than last weeks. Our first dive was on a 100′ push barge. The viz was great until I got about 15′ from the bottom, then it was around
10+/- feet. The second dive was on the Gator Bowl and the third was on
concrete culverts. The viz was very good on the last two dives….about
30+/- feet. I speared all of my fish on the last dive. Tony and Brian
didn’t get any the whole trip. Tony sat out of the last dive b/c he was too tired. (What a pansy!) Brian got sick about 10 miles from leaving the dock and puked all day long until I gave him one of my anti-nausea pills. After that, he was out like a light! (I attached a pic of him.) From now on, I think that he should inherit my nickname and we can find
myself another one for your website. Ha!
2009 Hunter Water Hunter is underway
Posted by: | CommentsOn April 25th we went out with Capt. Dan and the hunting was on. The 2007 champ, Scott “Foulman” Fowler and 2008 champ, Chad “ebay” Thomas where both there to help get a jump start on 2009. Tony “Tiger Shark” Sapp, Paul “Sea Sick” Harris, Brian “AC/DC” Coggin, Ronnie “Insp. Gadget” Ballinger and Dr. Mark “Doc” Spivey also join Regina “Water B” and me.
Phyllis "Shutterbug" Williams makes her mark.
Posted by: | CommentsDue to pressure placed on me by non-spear (people) who would rather shoot pictures or drag up old stuff from the bottom of the sea, we have added three new categories to the “2009 Under Water Hunter”. Phyllis “Shutterbug” Williams has made her mark and taken an early lead with her photo from Lahania, HI.
Chad "New Guy" Thomas take first place
Posted by: | CommentsChad “New Guy” Thomas is Waterdog Scuba’s 2008 Underwater Hunter and recieved a new SeaLife Mini Camera. Scott “Foulman” Fowler was a close secound. Everyone had a good time with the tournament and we hope to add more participants next year. Merry Christmas
